Our Practice

Our Practice

Our office hours are: Monday 8- 5:30, Tuesday & Thursday 8- 5:00, Wednesday 8-4:00, Fridays CLOSED.

Appointments may be scheduled by contacting us (207) 781-7900. There may be times during the year when the office will be closed other than for holidays, due to lectures or conferences.

Your first appointment may be as long as an hour in length and your follow-ups, as long as thirty minutes. Once you have made an appointment, the office staff will mail you a patient information packet that includes a medical history form. Please fill out the enclosed forms and bring them to your first visit. This will save time during your discussions with the doctor and leave more time for your treatment. If you have any reports that are pertinent to your medical problem, such as lab work, x-rays or MRI reports, please bring them as well. It will also be helpful if you are able to wear loose clothing as your treatment will include hands-on Osteopathic treatment. You will be asked to remove your shoes prior to treatment.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us at least twenty-four hours in advance. We do keep a waiting list for patients and this allows us to offer someone else your appointment time. It is our office policy to charge for a missed appointment.

Office Environment

Our goal is to create an environment that is peaceful and nurturing for our patients. We therefore ask that cell phones are turned off while you are in the office. We also ask that you refrain from wearing any perfumes or products with strong fragrances, and that you not smoke prior to you appointment, as some of our patients have chemical sensitivities and /or respiratory problems. In order that you may receive the best treatment possible, you may want to arrange childcare for young children who might have difficulty being patient while their parent is being cared for.

We participate, as specialists, with most major insurance companies. We do not accept Medicaid or Maine Care. If you have an HMO type of insurance, you are responsible for contacting your primary care provider for a referral (if required by your insurance company). Please make sure the referral is in place prior to your appointment. Please bring your insurance cards to the appointment.

Co-payments need to be paid at the time of service. If you have questions regarding your coverage, please contact your insurance company prior to your appointment. We are regarded as a specialty practice.

There are some insurance companies that will not pay for two types of treatment modalities received on the same day, (for example, physical therapy or therapeutic massage). We urge you not to schedule two appointments of this type on the same day.

Motor Vehicle Injuries

If your injury is the result of a motor vehicle accident, we will need you to bring your own motor vehicle medical payment information to your first appointment. We do not bill third parties even if they were at fault. Your insurance company is responsible for negotiating payment with the other party.

Worker’s Compensation Injuries

If you are being seen for a work related injury or illness, please be sure to bring all the necessary billing information including the Date of Injury, the Claim Number and the contact information for any case/nurse managers or attorneys assigned to the case. It is your responsibility to gather the correct billing information prior to your appointment.
